Why did you decide to run for this office?

The opportunity to serve my community in public office is a high honor that I do not take for granted. I fully support the pro-family, pro-student, and pro-business policies our legislature has passed and promoted since 2011. I hope to continue this service and policies into 2025.

What are your top 3 priorities for serving in this office?

Safety and security: making sure that our communities and families are safe places to work and live.

Economic prosperity: continue to promote and pass policies that attract good-paying jobs to allow opportunities for everyone.

Education: student-focus educational opportunities allow for families to choose where their child can be the most successful and thrive. For my wife, my two children, and me personally, traditional public schools was the best option, but that’s not the case for every family. Students should not be forced into one option when it may not be the best for them. I support school choice and those choices should not be limited by their zip code or the size of their parent/guardian’s wallet. Students first…always.

What experience/qualities make you a good choice for this office?

I have had the privilege to serve in the senate for 6 years and currently chair the Commerce/Insurance committee in the NC Senate. Economic development and regulation reform that we have focused on continues to make NC one of the top states to do business. In my private life, I operate two small businesses and understand the effects of inflation, meeting payroll, and making the tough decisions that business owners and families have to make on a daily basis.

Why did you decide to run for this office?

Growing up, my mom always said – there’s no sense in complaining, either do something to create a solution or be quiet. -(paraphrasing) There are changes needed at the senate level to better our communities and lives. Creating solutions is a strength of mine.

What are your top 3 priorities for serving in this office?
  1. Protect public schools
  2. Support local businesses
  3. Advocate for smart growth
What experience/qualities make you a good choice for this office?

Having been a resident of both Cabarrus and Union counties as well as being very active on social media in these communities, I am in touch with the people and their needs. Running a successful local real estate business has me invested in advocating for other small businesses. My favorite saying is “humankind, be both.” Living this belief can take us all to a better community.
